A man, 24, was taken into custody in Lambeth for suspected robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. They both are still being held, the force said.
These detentions follow a probe into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the attack, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their suitcases upon exiting a parking garage elevator.
A three-year-old girl was one of the injured during the incident. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for medical care and have since been released.
Police arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of robbery and assault near the scene. He has since been released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.
Police were alerted at approximately 08:10 GMT following reports of a number of individuals injured by a noxious substance believed to be pepper spray.
The attack - an event that police said was a standalone incident and not being treated as an act of terror - caused train delays and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
